We have been updating our website for some time now, which we hope will improve your experience of it. You will be able to access http://workreply.com again on September 1. The return of our site is only the beginning, with more to come over the rest of the year, and beyond. On September 1, you will see a new homepage, top level service access sites/pages (for employers, job seekers, careerists, partners and more) and a many other changes.
What are we doing and why?
Your feedback and our research have given us a strong steer about how we could improve your experience with our site, our services, with us. We have had consistent messages that you found our website difficult to navigate; that some of you are not really sure what to do on the site; and that it doesn’t work well on mobile devices.
You will notice the following changes:
- New design
- A more user-friendly interface
- Simpler and more clearer understanding of what to do, and how to do it (whatever it may be), on our site
What happens On September 1?
We will be rolling out these improvements with the re-launch of our website, and rolling out new sections of our site and new programs and services.
How can I get involved?

Green energy. The creator of green jobs. Right?
According to 2010 annual average data published by the Green Goods and Services (GGS) survey, about 60 percent of the 3.1 million jobs associated with green goods and services production were in establishments that received all of their profits from green goods and services. We’re talking establishments like those that create and provide solar panels. Let’s not talk about solar panel companies, like the solar panel maker Solyndra, that defaulted on loans, laid off workers and failed to live up to their promises. But other than solar panels, to the common person, what else comes to mind? Most times, nothing else. So people ponder, have public efforts to stimulate creation of green jobs largely failed? President Obama promised to create five million new environmentally friendly jobs.
Where are they?
We can start by saying this, more than 1,000,000 drafty homes have been retrofitted to lower heating and cooling costs and energy generation from renewable sources has nearly doubled since 2008. Green jobs hold considerable promise. In addition to focusing on environmental sustainability, green jobs are often financially sustainable. The President and his administration have reduced energy use, cleaned up the environment and generated jobs (green ones). There is a federal initiative to improve environmentally friendly sustainability. Some wonder if the President and his administration over-promised when making the green jobs promise. Networking, both on and off line is part of the job search experience, but there is a right and a wrong way to do it.
- For whatever reason you wish to depart from your current employer, make sure to never bad mouth them. This is a guaranteed way to have word get out that you’re not only seeking employment elsewhere, but it’s also a way to make sure you violate and work against the attainment of your first objective, keeping your current job until you find a new one.
- Know where your resume and information is going before you send them. If you’re applying to a position, where the company is unidentifiable, you should reexamine sending your information. Who’s to say it’s not your current employer or someone else real close to home?
Contemplate the 5 points above and remember that the only person you can truly trust is yourself.

The days of 1 interview with an employer, to land a job, are over. You should expect 2 job interviews with an employer, minimum.
What you ask during a job interview, or don’t ask, is just as important as the fact that you even bothered to show up. The questions you ask during a job interview, need to convey your interest in the position, company and team.

The question isn’t IF you HAVE a cover letter. The question is HOW you USE your cover letter.
How do you use your cover letter?
Are you maximizing the effectiveness of your cover letter?
Are you inadvertently minimizing the efficiency of your cover letter?
As with everything we say and do, the only things that matter, even with your cover letter, are effectiveness and efficiency. To accomplish cover letter effectiveness and efficiency, your cover letter needs to be relevant, in every possible way. Your cover letter needs to be relevant to:
- The position
- The hiring manager
- The company
If you want your resume read, you must have an effective, efficient cover letter, that is relevant to the position, hiring manager and company. If you want an interview, your resume needs to be read. If you want a job, you need an interview.
You see, in the grand scheme of things, a cover letter is VERY important.
No cover letter? No resume review.
No resume review? No interview.
No interview? No job.
Your cover letter is a showcase of you. It’s important to note that all hiring managers don’t pay attention to the showcase. For these hiring managers, your cover letter never can and never will interest them. For other hiring managers, the showcase, your cover letter, is the main event. In some cases, your cover letter can be more important than your actual resume. All things considered, because you never know how the hiring manager reviewing your resume will feel about cover letters, always be prepared. Always have a cover letter.
One benefit that you get from cover letter that you can’t get from resumes, is the ability to showcase your personality and communication skills. Accomplishing this is infinitely easier to achieve via a cover letter, compared to a resume. Neither your resume or cover letter will get you hired. They will simply get your foot in the door. They are the showcase that will lead to the interview.
